MACOM uses high volume, dual use processes to create military and space applications: GaN-on-SiC, GaN-on-Si, and Si bipolar power amplifiers; Si, GaAs, AlGaAs, and HMIC diodes; GaAs MESFET and pHEMT, GaN HEMT, SOI and SiGe-based MMICs; Hybrid components—both passive and active; and Hermetic and printed circuit board-based modules and assemblies.

Broadcast Video

MACOM develops solutions which optimize the cost and performance of equipment that supports SMPTE standards. Typical applications include serial routing switchers, production switchers, cameras, monitors, master control equipment and other broadcast video systems which are driving the migration to 3G high-definition (HD) transmission and emerging 4K ultra-high definition television (UHDTV) standards. 

MACOM's award-winning 12G-SDI chipset supports the latest technology initiatives required for high data-rate video transport.  12G-SDI is the next data rate in the evolution of the SDI standard. It is required in order to support 4K video resolutions at 60 frames per second over a single coaxial cable or optical fiber.
